Chris Baty, Director and Administrative Assistant
"Are you going to drink that Dr. Pepper?"
A proud resident of Oakland, California, Chris has been heading
up the NaNoWriMo adventure since its inception in 1999. With his
startlingly mediocre prose style and complete inability to write
credible dialogue, Chris has set a reassuringly low bar for budding
novelists everywhere. Chris
is a freelance writer by trade; his work has appeared in the Washington
Post, the SF Weekly, Lonely Planet guidebooks, and the East Bay
Express (for which he writes the biweekly Metronome
Diary column). When not bossing strangers around, Chris spends
debilitating amounts of time in coffee shops and record stores.

Claire Robertson, Illustrator
"I don't know about the bangs."
Claire
is best known for her much-loved loobylu.com
website, but her work has appeared everywhere from the New York
Public Library to the Melbourne Age. One of the most talented
artists of her generation, Claire lives in Melbourne, where the
seasons are upside-down, toilets flush backwards, and wallabyes
roam the streets in bewildered packs. Claire is a morning person
who cites her Martha Stewart Living magazines as some of her more
embarassing possessions. Claire's favorite Lucksmith is Marky.

Dan
Sanderson, Technical Know-it-All
"Give me a LAMP environment and I'll be happy."
Ensconsed in a cyborg-staffed castle 19 miles beneath the surface
of Seattle, Dan brings a healthy dose of technical je ne sais
quoi to the NaNoWriMo escapade. Dan's favorite Australian
animal is the sugar glider. There will be a photo of him up as
soon as he sends it.
